Actionplay is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to working with museums and performance centers to help develop programming that is more accessible to children, teens, and young adults with autism and developmental disabilities. Children with autism and developmental disabilities oftentimes have sensory challenges, movement and coordination issues, and may communicate in non-traditional ways. Children with autism and developmental disabilties are also amazing individuals who are brilliant, social, creative, and have the ability if treated with understanding and respect to share their unique voices and visions with the world.
Actionplay will work with educational programs at our museums and cultural centers, to assess current programs and to design new programs that will help meet the needs of children with autism and developmental disabilities. Actionplay is staffed by a trained group of therapists, educators, and specialists who love to design programs that are fun, creative, and celebratory of ALL children.
